The Bureau of Economic Analysis recently released the 2009 per capita personal income (PCPI) numbers for counties and metro areas. Per capita personal income fell in Oregon between 2008 and 2009 to $36,191. Although the number is smaller than last year's, it is still higher than per capital personal income was in Oregon in 2007.

Per capita personal income also fell in over half of Oregon's counties. The largest drop occurred in Sherman County (-16%). The largest over-the-year gain was in Wheeler County (6%). Overall though, in most counties, the growth or decline over the year was less than 2 percent.

Klamath County's per capita personal income fell by less than $10 to $29,387 in 2009. Klamath was the only county in the state with essentially no change in PCPI for the year.

Per capita personal income in Lake County was $31,269 in 2009. Incomes grew by 1.4 percent ($430). The county had the sixth largest increase of Oregon's 36 counties in per capita personal income between 2008 and 2009.
